Apparently next group riding event in Seoul(aka SBYL aka Sunday Between Your Legs) is going to be at 1988 Seoul Olympics Velodrome. That's pretty awesome. And look at all the sponsors. They must be giving out tons of prizes!!

Future Tense, Seattle 11.14.08

Yesterday I went to an event called 'Future Tense'. And now I'm going to write about it.

But I don't feel like writing stuff in English tonight so I'm going to write in Korean.

지난 금요일 밤에 있었던 이벤트의 포스터 사진입니다. 이번 휴쳐텐스의 메인 이벤트는 '블랙잭 레이스' 였지요. 뭔고 하니 레이스의 두개의 체크포인트에서 각각 카드 한장씩을 받아서 레이스를 가장 먼저 끝낸이 뿐만 아니라 가장 좋은 패를 받은 참가자도 우승하게 되는 그런 것이었던 것이죠.



자 여기 레이스를 시작하기 직전 잔뜩 쫄려있는 선수들이 보이죠. 저기 에어로 헬멧을 쓴 타이뤄는 아주 튀어나갈 듯한 재치있는 포즈를 취하고 있군요 ^^


다들 자기 자전거를 부여잡고 뛰쳐나갑니다. 레이스는 비교적 짧은 편으로 한 10분정도 걸리는 코스였습니다. 다운힐을 한참 해서 첫 체크포인트에 도달한 후 다시 언덕을 죽죽 올라서 두번째 체크포인트를 지나 언덕을 조금 더 올라 종점으로 가는 그런 것이었죠. 필자는 32명정 15등을 하는 기염을 토합니다.

레이스 후 첫 이벤트는 트랙스탠딩 트위스터였는데요. 무작위로 선정된 '탑튜브', '포크', '싯튜브', '다운튜브' 의 네 부위를 각각 오른손 왼손으로 부여 잡고 자세를 유지하면서 버티면 되는 아주 간단한 경기였지요 ^^



제가 이벤트 불과 몇시간 전에 부착한 헤드벳지가 보이는군요. ^^


여기 독일에서 온 필릭스라는 청년이양손으로 싯튜브를 부여잡는 어렵고도 오묘한 자세를 취하고 있군요. 레이스도 1등으로 도착한 필릭스는 이날 트랙스탠딩도 이기고 베스트트릭도 3등하고 풋다운도 3등안에 들어서 상품을 싹쓸이 해갔습니다. 그리곤 태연하게 '난 그냥 라이딩을 좋아할 뿐이다' 라고 말했는데요...



키요가 요즘 이런 이벤트에 별로 얼굴을 들이밀지 않는 요즈음, 비엠엑스의 세계에서 좀 놀다오신 타이뤄라는 분이 아주 가도를 달리고 있습니다만 그의 5만함과 간지없는 머리모양새 때문에 사람들은 그를 조금 어려워 하는 듯 합니다. 이 사진은 타일러가 계단위에서 공중 180도 회전을 통해 바닥에 랜딩한 후 페이키로 뒤로 가다가 키오스핀을 통해서 정면라이딩으로 착지하는 트릭을 선보이던 중 찍혔군요.


베스트 트릭이 있은 후에는 격렬한 풋다운 매치가 벌어졌습니다. 저기 무섭게 생긴 금발 아저씨는 레이스란 레이스는 다 깔끔히 이겨주시는 아주 격렬한 분이죠.

가운데는 히로타카라는 분입니다. 패스트 프라이데이 스훼샬 휘쳐에서 '데이아웃 위드 키오 앤 히로'를 보셧다면 그를 알아볼 수 있으시겠지요.


필자는 3개의 라운드중 하나에서 파이날 쓰리에 들어서 결승전에서 여덣명의 다른 전사들과 맛붙었습니다만 타일러가 너무 격렬하고 열정적인 공격을 퍼부어서 힘없이 쓰러지고 말았습니다.


상품이 나열되어 있습니다. LSD에서 스판서 한번 하면 짱일텐데요. 산반쵸도 그 먼 일본에서 스환서 한다는데 ㅎㅎ

오늘의 챔피언.정상위에 올라 어느 상품을 고를지 고민하고 있군요. 필릭스가 몇번이나 저 위에 올라섰는지는 기억이 나질 않는군요.

Fast Friday Premiere in Seoul

last Friday in Korea was the Premiere of Fast Friday movie in Seoul. Apparently they rented a club called 'myoung-wall-gwan (Bright moon club)' and had a blast there.

Not everyone in Korea are Asians. These guys probably work as English teachers.
Like this gentleman down there.

I couldn't go to the Fast Friday party in Seattle because I wasn't old enough. But I'm old enough for anything in Korea. What a bummer. It amazes me sometimes how conservative America is.

PistaPisto in Seoul

one of the Seoul fixed gear events I missed out: PistaPisto.
Apparently the SAG crew and JAN crew from Japan visited Korea and had a blast.
There was track stand competition, long skidding competition, and a wheelie competition followed by Kai's wheelie demonstration.

then ofcourse everyone got drunk and went to Karaoke.

'FAST FRIDAY' ride in Seoul

I don't know what kind of connection there was between the organizer of this event and the actual fast friday crew, but there was a 'fast friday' group ride in Seoul, celebrating the premiere of the Fast Friday Movie in Korea.
Pretty cool that they're doing lot of events in Korea and the number of riders is increasing in Korea. I hope the scene spreads out to other cities as well.

Seattle Alley Cats - 9-19-08 Monument Race

The flyer and the route that I took to finish the race. Matt and I took I-99 high way on our way back. It was extreamly stupid and dangerous but we made it thorough and that's all that matters. I came in 32nd out of 33 racers who came in. HAHAHAHA

It's short for Lake Shore Drive and they have some amazing stuff going on in their underground space. They're running and sponsoring many events in Seoul.
Ofcourse, they're the shop that helped me get my Korean track frame custom painted.
